Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor is an American producer and actress. She earned a Bachelor of Arts at Brown University in African-American Studies. The Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she received an MFA. Aunjanue is l. Ellis is the American actor and producer who has worked in theater and TV and films as well, is actively involved across both sides of the screen. Her career began as an actor in theater before going on to be a part of numerous television series, mainstream and independent films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she won critical acclaim as well as numerous nominations and awards including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. She's appeared as a character on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry she is most famous for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. On television her regular role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her praises.
